2018

The MADE (Multidisciplinary Australian Danish Exchange) Program, sponsored by the Sydney Opera House, selects a team of five built environment students from NSW each year and sends them to Denmark to participate in a six-week collaborative design project. Hosted by a Danish architecture, engineering or design firm throughout the program, the team also participates in masterclasses and workshops focusing on multidisciplinary, cross-cultural collaboration and Jørn Utzon’s design principles.

Our team was hosted by C. F. Møller Architects and our brief was to develop a modular scheme to address Europe’s student housing shortage. To inform our process and design, we interviewed key stakeholders and investigated sustainability drivers, such as new timber technologies, circular economies, and life-cycle analysis of elements.

Our final proposal is a play in four scales.
